Shearing on the Florida farm is done every 2 weeks to keep the boys cool from the hheat and humidity. It is hot, humid/muggy, back breaking and dirty work. You will be slathered in sweat and machine oil, covered in shorn wool fibers hairs - all stuck to the lanolin oil and grease from the clippers - from head to toe. I don't care what they say - sheep shearing is not fun. Luckily - the boys are somewhat used to it on a bi-weekly basis - so we have it down to a science of 10 minutes or less.
